I started running at the beginning of this year, finally after 6 yrs of having kids I can now take time out for myself. Hubby and I are shooting for a half marathon next year (crossing fingers). I find as I run my characters/plot problems sort themselves out, I know when I haven't run for a couple of days I seem to get stuck writing/editing.
Good on your for doing the relay. I'm trying to get some of the ladies from my ward here into running, but so far no luck.

Two great accomplishments in one post: running a heck of a lot farther than I've ever run, and keeping great friends for so long. And making new ones! Okay, so that was three. Congrats!

Uh, I couldn't do 10 either, so I'm still impressed!! :-) True friends are definitely rare, but are such blessings. I'm glad you have people like that in your life, and I am grateful for those in mine too.

I need to look up the details of your signing... we have 4 parties this weekend (2 birthday, one Christmas breakfast, and a friend Christmas party), but if I can come I sure will!!

I should probably clarify that I didn't run 50 miles--we had five runners for the relay, so we each ran about 10. Not quite as impressive, I know. ;)

Ally I am so impressed! You are amazing in so many ways! I did cross country in high school...or rather tried for one season to do cross country. I ended up with bad shin splints and only ran 2 races. Sigh. I have since then been extremely impressed with people whose bodies can take the pounding of the asphault.

Besides that, you are just an amazingly inspiring person! If I weren't so super busy this weekend I would come see you! Sell lots of books!

Oh wow, 50 miles! That's really incredible.

Friends are also those who tell you, in whatever way you need to hear or will listen, when you’re going the wrong way.

Yes.
