a contest and a workshop
Posted by in UncategorizedI like to do giveaways of my new books. Usually about ten people enter and they are people I know and then I send the book off happily, because I know it will go to a good home.
So, let’s do it again! You can enter to win a copy of Being Sixteen by leaving a comment here on this post, or by becoming a follower of this blog. Do both, and you have two chances! I know. Awesome. (If you are already a follower, you have my undying gratitude, and I will enter you automatically once.) I’m confused. Are you confused? Follow. Comment. That should cover it. I’ll announce the winner on February 16th, so make sure you enter by the 15th. One more thing: this title is LDS fiction. Which means the characters are Mormon and they act like it–they talk about God, their faith, etc.–and the book is sold by a publisher that specializes in LDS fiction and non-fiction. I just want people to know before they enter–I don’t want anyone feeling like they are being preached to, etc., or surprised by the content.
And, I am presenting at the Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers workshop this June. It is awesome. I went last summer and had a lot of fun, especially when I wasn’t nursing my baby in the parking lot. (Was that too much information?)
One last thing. I try to respond to comments on posts after they’ve been up for about a week–so I promise I’m not ignoring if I don’t respond right away.
That is all. Hope you are having a lovely Groundhog Day!

Your book is already on my to-buy list, so give it to someone else
I’ll check to make sure I’m a follower.
I would love to read your new book to add to my “Ally Condie” bookshelf. I lurk on your blog more often than I comment, and I am always thrilled and amazed at your ability.
Sounds like a good book. I look forward to giving it a read.
I’m entering your contest because I’m a neighborhood book club wantabe! I have read all of the books for the book club…even if has been sometimes late. Now that we are reading Being Sixteen for the next club meeting, I’m once again trying to get a copy to read and I have this feeling that I’m going to read it late once again. I thought maybe entering your contest would help me get a copy faster! By the way, I feel pretty lucky to be your neighbor. Don’t worry, I’m keeping my eyes peeled for paparazi. I’ve enjoyed reading all your books very much and look forward to many more coming.
I am following (happily) and just made it in the comments to get entered. I heard about your book deal (congrats) and came to read up, since I love a good dystopian/forbidden romance. Your post about you and your husband’s song made me laugh because my husband and I have a song- “Gone till November” by Wycliff Jean. Not even remotely romantic, (about smuggling drugs, what???) if you don’t know it. Hubby is silly that way. And after we started having kids, it was officially changed to “All that she wants is another baby’, by Ace of Base. But he has written some love songs for guitar, so it’s okay.
