some news about matched

Posted by ally in this & that

So I have some news about Matched.

We just finished another round of revision and my editor is fantastic.

And….we have a release date: November 30, 2010. Yes. That is this year. Yes. I am crazy excited about it.

More news: you can pre-order it on Amazon (thank you, Tasha, for letting me know)!

Still more news: I have seen an idea for the cover and it rocks.the.house.

And we have sold foreign rights in the UK and Australia as well, so for those of you who were asking, it looks like it will be coming your way. (Yay! I’m over the moon about this sale, and the other foreign sales too, of course.)

In other news, I am still unsuccessful at potty-training Boy 2. Sigh. You can’t win them all….

Woo-Hoo! This year! So exciting. (Also this year? Boy 2 will have it down. I’m so certain.)

When can we see a cover?

  • Julie Dixon says:

I’m very excited for you! Can’t wait for Matched to come out. Boy 2 will get there when he’s ready.)

  • Holy crow! That is FAST. I am really happy they are moving things along so quickly-I want to read Matched now!

Can’t wait to see the cover once it is finalized.

  • Sara says:

Yay!! I’m so glad that it’s coming out in November like you thought!! Woohoo!! And I can’t wait to see the cover.

As for potty training, ugh… I’ve yet to meet a ten year old who isn’t potty trained, but sometimes (when you’re in the middle of it) you start to wonder if it will ever happen, don’t you? Or you can think you’re done, and suddenly you’re almost five year old is wetting the bed again and leaking in his pants. It’s just lovely. Boys. ;-)

  • Sara says:

That should have been “your” not “you’re” – I hate it when I accidentally type those wrong (or when other people use the wrong ones too, it’s a pet peeve of mine, so I had to fix it!) lol! ;-)

Anyway, congrats again on all the great news! Oh, and the foreign sales, too! Wow. What an amazing ride you’re on.

  • Yay Yay Yay Yay Yay!

Ally that is all great news! (Except the potty training! Good luck with that!!! I am getting close to wanting to start potty training mine and I have no clue what to do!)

I am SOOOO excited to not only see the cover but get that book in my hands!!!!

  • Can’t wait to read it. November is toooo far away.

  • Samantha says:

Is it bad that I’m secretly happy to hear that you are struggling with potty-training? Because it is official that I SUCK at it. I know you’re practically perfect in every other way, though. :)

So excited to see the cover and read the final copy! Have I mentioned yet how thrilled I am for you???

  • Shari says:

Congratulations! I’m doing a happy dance! Can you see me? Can’t wait to buy mine and get it autographed.

  • Julie D. says:

    What great news!

  • This is great news! I am insanely happy for you. And me too….patience is not one of my stronger attritbutes, I think any later than Nov 30 would cause permanent damage.

I can’t wait to see the cover and feel the book in my hands.

Good luck with the #2….he he

  • Congrats on all accounts, and hopefully the toilet training will happen soon as well! Those days are safely behind me. My #4 kid realized that she’d have to train herself since mom was writing a book. I kept trying to put her off, but she is quite headstrong. She did a pretty good job :-)

  • Ally, this is all so exciting! You must wear a constant grin:) I’m so happy for you.

  • edith says:

That is such good news, Fall will be here in no time. I’m excited to see the cover to go with the great book.

  • Kayla says:

I will be ready for the red carpet by then! So excited for you Ally……now when i pre-order can i send it to your house and you personally sign it and send it to me :)

  • 6gMom says:

Woot! Woot! That is AWESOME Ally, well, all except the potty-training (sorry about that) :)

  • That’s so exciting that your book is going to be released this year! I can’t wait! I know the SLTA is looking forward to it too. :)

Becca, ask and ye shall receive. :) I’ll show the cover as soon as I can!
Julie, I sure hope he’s ready before kindergarten. He turns five soon.
Rachel, thank you! I hope you like it!
Sara-boys, indeed. I keep hearing girls are easier but maybe I just say that to console myself.
Stacey! I wish I had any advice. But I’m glad you still want to read my book even though I am no good with potty-training.
Susan, thank you–I hope November comes soon, too.
Sandy, I hope it worked! I actually have it in my cart. Is it shameful to preorder your own book?
Tami, you are such a good friend. And I love that you hate potty-training too.
Shari, I so wish I could see the happy dance.
    Julie, thanks!
Heather Smitty, nice pun. Is that a pun? And I love that you are so excited.
Heather M., maybe that’s what I should do!
Joanie, I am smiling a lot these days. But also stressing a bit. ;)
Edith, you are the best. Thank you for always reading everything and being so supportive!
    Kayla, of COURSE!
6gmom–thank you! For the condolences, too. ;)
Jenni, I love you, and I love SLTA. Thanks for the well-wishes!

  • Congrats on the book and I’m right there with you on the potty training, although I’m unsuccessfully attempting twin toilet training. It’s a hard hard task but we’ll get there one day.

  • It was a pun as long as it was funny. Otherwise, I have NO idea what you are talking about. :)
