marathon
Posted by in UncategorizedI am posting about a writing marathon today, so in honor of it, I thought I would bust out this very old photo of my husband and I as we are about to run our first marathon together. Elves. Skinny happy elves. Where has the time gone?
We got engaged one week later.
So maybe if you have a significant other and you decide to “race” the writing marathon together, you will also become betrothed. I’m just saying.
Anyway, the writing marathon is going on March 18-20 over at the very fantastic Throwing Up Words:Because Sometimes It’s The Only Option blog run by very fun YA authors Ann Dee Ellis and Carol Lynch Williams. Click here for more information. Just think. This might be the opportunity you need to get the jump-start on something you want to finish or something you want to begin or, maybe just get behind you. Like Mile 23 of the marathon. I don’t know what it is about Mile 23–it’s not the end–but it kicks my trash every single stinking time.
Down with Mile 23. Let’s all sign up and get it behind us so we can get to the finish line!

I’ll definitely keep this in mind for when I wish to get betrothed! ;]
And thank you so much for the information on the writing marathon. This is definitely something I need to get a jump-start on my novel.
This is the 2nd marathon I’ve heard of, the first being NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Throwing up words is great. Now, if only it were as easy to throw up editing.
You two are adorable. Definitely elves. I think the running thing is awesome. My husband’s legs are too long for us to run together, but sometimes I hold his feet when he does sit ups….

October 5th entry.
You two are seriously so cute. I love it!
I already signed up using my trash-kicking pseudonym, (and gave you credit) so I’m on board!
I love that picture of you guys!! You do look like skinny, happy elves. That’s awesome.
You’re both still skinny, but not so elvish. That I’ve seen anyway.
Me do a normal marathon that involves running… never gonna happen. Lucky for me I got “betrothed” without it! lol! A writing marathon however, that I could do.
Being a part of a challenge seems like it’d be really fun to all do together! What a great idea.
In the middle of your new book and loving it. But I noticed it’s not up yet on your own website under books.
Not that you’re busy or anything. But i just love seeing that fun picture. Do you have a favorite cover of all your books?
I am cracking up at your picture. I was just thinking about you and wondering how life is going. Looks like it is going well, with the usual ups and downs of life.
Happy Elves……make sure you tell santa i have been good!
Sandy, now you know. It’s the world’s best-kept secret about getting betrothed. Run for miles and be yucky and sweaty in front of each other. So romantic!
I hope the writing marathon goes great for you.
Samantha, she is just the cutest!
Julie! We’re going to have to compare notes at the end of the marathon.
Sara, I’m glad to hear that you think our elvenness has lessened.
Debbie, I’m so glad you’re liking Being Sixteen! Let me know what you think when you finish. My husband finally put it up on the “Books” page. He’s really nice about helping with the website because I am completely illiterate when it comes to those things.
Tori, I miss you!
Kayla, I will be sure to let him know.
