love right now
Posted by in this & thatBesides my husband and kids (of course!), here are some things I love right now:

*These cookies (above), which my dear friend Josie brought me all the way from London. I love them almost as much as I love Josie. Work is so much more fun with these Hob Nobs at my side. I have been addicted to these things ever since my days studying abroad in London when I was in college.
*The song “Somebody That I Used to Know” by Gotye, which I have listened to all weekend long. My husband heard it on the radio, downloaded it onto my computer, and told me I would love it. He was right. He is a much better musician (guitar, singing, piano) than I am (no guitar, no singing, atrophied piano skills) but we do often enjoy the same things in a song: clever lyrics, beautiful voices, a melody that builds, and unexpected but still musical phrasing. I think we can consider it an official addition to the playlist for Book 3 (which I haven’t revealed in its entirety yet, but which also includes the song “Red” by Natalie Walker).
*The fact that my youngest little guy is now potty-trained (happy holidays to us!). For the first time in almost nine years, there are no diapers in my house. Which is a little sad, but mostly awesome for now.
*The world’s nicest babysitters, who for security reasons I shall not name here. But their names both begin with M and they are both amazing with my kids and they both are smiley and pretty and sweet and everything that is good about high school/college students today. See also: my cousins, who fall into all the same categories.
*Burt’s Bees shimmery lip gloss.
That is all for now. What do you love right this minute?

I love avocado, tomato and cucumber sandwiches. Also my library overflowing with books. And my youngest’s toothless grin.
Okay, all of those things sound AMAZING. Will have to try the sandwiches…yum!
Matched, which I am halfway through reading.
And writing, reading of any sort, playing violin, and Tuesdays.
Eva, I’m glad you’re enjoying Matched! And our lists sound very similar…except I stink at all things musical. How lovely that you play violin.
Currently loving A Million Suns, Beth Revis’s new book, and looking forward to loving The Fault in Our Stars by John Green! Also loving Arnold Palmer, peppermint tea, and chicken. Always chicken.
Gretchen, I can’t wait to read those two books too! And chicken is excellent, especially in tikka masala.
I love a quiet house, an interesting book waiting for me, and a fast internet connection.
Julianne, those are the triumvirate of awesome. I wish I had a fast internet connection…so much rainbow wheel in my life. Of course, it could also be my computer, which is from 2006 (truly).
When I lived in England, I ate Hob Nobs all the time. Nummers! Lucky you!
Right now, I’m loving Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. My new apartment. Nutella is delicious. And really adore Christina Perri’s music!
Julia, I can’t wait to read The Clockwork Prince! I loved the first book. And Nutella….yum!
I think you would love timtams, they are chocolate goodness! (also enough of chocolate, I am not eating chocolate in any form this year!)
That song is great, although it is heartbreaking! But just so different. Gotye won a few ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) Awards last year.
I am still thinking about Crossed, which I finished the other day, I really enjoyed it, and so enjoyed learning so much more about Ky! Any announcements on the title of book 3 yet??
I am enjoying my morning walks, even thought it is still school holidys here in Australia, I’m enjoying forgoing my sleep-in for some needed exercise!
Melissa, no word on the title of Book 3 yet. But I promise to post about it as soon as I can! And I can’t believe you aren’t eating chocolate at all this year. That is some SERIOUS willpower. I am dazzled.
Right now I love Crossed, which I’m reading and Scorch Trials, which I’m listening to on tape.
Ali, thank you!! So glad you’re enjoying CROSSED.
And I need to read THE SCORCH TRIALS.
Trombone Shorty! He’ll perk up any day.
Jasmine, I will have to give that a try! Sometimes these winter days do need perking.
I love Hob Nobs! But my current favorite addiction is Downton Abbey. I love period dramas–especially good ones!
Rosalyn, I am dying to watch that show. It sounds FANTASTIC. Someday!!
Great list! As of lately I’ve been loving Ritz wheat crackers, the sound of violins, c.d. cases that aren’t made of plastic, and creative book covers.
Oh, and p.s.? I love when authors do things like this. A lot.
Brooke, thanks for the feedback.
I’ll try to do this more often. Now to find some Ritz crackers…
We discovered hob nobs in Nigeria this week and Joy is quite enamored. My new interest is fried plantain.
Derrill, I love to hear about your life in Nigeria! Will have to check the blog more often. Tell Joy I raise a Hob Nob in a toast to her.
I am absolutely in love with Entwined! Also the Piano Guys! Theyr’e great!
Piano Guys have changed my life. I keep listening to them ALL the time. And my kids love the new Star Wars one.
I need to read Entwined!
I finished Entwined on Sunday. I think I love it more now then I did then!!!!!!!!!!! It is one of my top favorite books. If you-as an author find her blog-then tell me, because I want to find it. Thanks. It is a beautiful book!!!!!!!!!
I love mached and crossed and I can’t wait for the third book! And omg my name is Josie too!!!
<3
Josie is SUCH a beautiful name. One of my faves. I’ll probably name a character that one day.
And thanks for your kind words about the books!
Hey Allyson, I wanted to know what inspired you to write?
love right now || allyson condie – just great!
Bridget, potty-training is so hard. It took me a good six months to work up my courage to do it this time around…
